A tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth from its socket in the bone. If a tooth has been broken, damaged or decayed, your dentist will try to fix it with a filling, crown or other treatment. Sometimes, though, there’s too much damage for the tooth to be repaired. In this case, the tooth needs to be extracted.

If you and your general dentist have made the decision to remove teeth and replace them with a partial denture or a full denture, Dr. Bennett will work closely with your dentist and in some cases is able to remove the teeth and place the denture on the same day.
Other reasons for having teeth extracted include removing baby teeth when they don’t fall out in time to allow the permanent teeth to come in and to create room for the teeth that are being moved into place with braces.
